These are the beginnings of the new project: A Quilt.
My mom and sister came into town and we had to hit up the local quilt shop so they could get their fix (don't tell my dad!). We always go to Patched Works Quilts in Elm Grove. They have a terrific selection of fabrics and patterns and we always find some inspiration in the many many quilts on display.
Well normally I just bide my time in the quilt store until they will go to the yarn shop with me. But this time....this time I may have found a new pattern that I like. The pattern is Urban Cabin by Terry Atkinson. The fabric is a selection of fat quarter bundles SPA by Rosemarie Lavin for Windham Fabrics.
This is just the beginning. The actual quilt is all pieced together except for the border - I still need to get some fabric for the border and put that on. Then my first quilt will be off to my Mom's to get quilted and so she can sew the binding on for me....that's part of the deal.
These are the Easter Booties that I made for Liza - they are made out of Debbie Bliss Eco Baby and they match the sweater I made for her too. Can't wait to get pictures of the whole outfit put together.
Work has been pretty crazy lately. I am working most days this month and don't have a whole lot of energy to do much when I get home.
In other news I just went to a BRAND NEW YARN STORE in Brookfield. It is called Cream City Yarn and is located on North Ave and Pilgrim Rd. It was lovely - very well done and organized, not crowded even though there were a lot of people there. The workers were friendly and helpful. I may have spent a little bit but I have been wanting to try out Spud and Chloe yarn for sometime - and they had a terrific selection.
Well that was it for my wonderful day off. Now for some Mexican food, margaritas and crafts for the evening!
