Twins Game

Let's not focus on the actual OUTCOMES of the recent Twins/Brewers Series.  Let's just focus on the fact that I got pretty close to my boyfriend, Joe Mauer, and we had awesome seats and an awesome time.

We went to the first game of the series on Friday.  Bry got us great seats just 3 rows behind the Twins dugout.  I was able to get some pretty nice photos.

We had to miss the Saturday game for a family wedding (Congrats to Tim and Marissa!) but we got to the Sunday game.  Good friend James Enderle joined us and we found some last minute seats in our favorite section.  We had a fun time there - even if Bry did drop my cheese curds on the ground.  We just love going to the Brewer's games - so easy (2 miles from our house) and fun.

We LOVE Joe Mauer!

I always tease Bry that this guy will be the only one to possibly steal my heart away - I guess I have a thing for Minnesota Boys.  In all honesty though, not sure which one of us would love Joe more - Bry thinks he's pretty special too.  (His batting average this year aside.)  He's a quality guy, great athlete and not too bad on the eyes either!

Not sure why the photos aren't uploading with a good quality - still figuring out how to work this whole new computer.  Currently I still have to go between the computers for music and photos.  One day it will be all sorted out.

Catch Up

Well there has definitely been a lot going on lately. Bry just returned from a road trip to Missouri for a boy's weekend for his best friend's Bachelor Party.  Abi was left to fend for herself and headed to Michigan to visit the parentals for the weekend.  Got to see lots of great friends, family (Hi! Morgan!) and visit the beach and a winery.  I have more photos and stories about that to come.  I will be writing up a bunch of blog posts here and slowly releasing them to the Faithful Followers. (Tony - that's you!)  But first: KNITTING KNEWS

When I'm stressed at work knitting takes center stage to stave off suicidality.  I have been completing a number of items lately and have been trying them on any Little Person that will Hold Still.

This sweater was an absolute joy.  The yarn.....I have seen the Madelintosh LIGHT and will have to restrain myself.  The ONLY reason I did not buy every available skein of it was the cost.  In this yarn you truly get what you pay for.  I will save it up for special projects.  It is the heroin of yarn.  Swear.

This is a lovely lovely pattern - really liking how the cables are coming along.  However, the whole seaming thing.....not liking it now that I've figured out how to knit whole sweaters in the round.  I have the entire bottom finished - going to sew it together and start on the top.

So that is the knitting update.  Coming up in future episodes will be: Twins Game, 4th of July, Brewers Game, Michigan Visit and probably some more.  Lots to catch up on before I start in the ICU in 2 weeks.

Year 4

Starting Year 4 of marriage today.
While yesterday wasn't an elaborate celebration it was definitely who we are right now.
I spent the day knitting, cleaning the house, going to a work meeting, going to the West Allis Farmer's Market and then jogging to Bry's softball game.
In fact, I didn't see him or talk with him until after the softball game.
Then we went out to Maxie's Southern Comfort where we had an outstanding 8pm meal.

Today it's back to work for us.
I will try to post pictures of the anniversary presents that we got/gave too.  Nothing dirty....

Day Off

Today was a totally necessary day off.  I started it out by sleeping in.....until 7 am.  That's a whole 2.5 hours more than normal!  Amazing.
Next I had coffee and worked on some knitting.  An awesome thunderstorm rolled in and a lazy mood was set for the entire day.  I did, however, manage to make it out to do some errands.  First stop was to buy Bry's Anniversary present which is now carefully stashed in the apartment until next week Tuesday.  Following that I made a trip to the new yarn shop in the area, Cream City Yarn.  The owner spent a lot of time chatting with me - admittedly I am NOT a difficult person to whom to sell yarn.  I walked away with a few that I'd been eying for awhile and some for my Christmas knitting.  Christmas knitting in June?  Yep.  I figure I can get a head start on it now.
Also on the To-Do list was a little cleaning up.  I actually don't mind it because I like the effects of a nice, clean apartment on my sanity.  I tried bringing up hiring Maid Service to Bry but he shot it down.  I think it would be nice to not have to worry about the deep cleaning stuff.....I'll work on him.
Along with buying yarn I made some effort to finish up projects I've had around the house.  Hopefully more will be done by the end of the night....

Mittens?

Another sweater - to -be.  Some of the most gorgeous yarn I have every seen.  So happy that my LYS got 'Tosh in stock.  I have a standing order with the owner to let me know when they get their 'Tosh Sock back in stock (say that 3 times fast) so I can make a specific new pattern "crush" that I have, Kernal by Bonnie Sennot.

This makes me soo soo happy.

Some Wisconsin Grown Alpaca that I bought at State Fair last year.  i finally put it to use and am making some Christmas presents from it.  It is a HUGE amount of yardage.

MMMM, S'Mores

?Flat Marshmallow? These things didn't quite deliver.  I don't personally mind smushing down the regular 'shmallows when making S'Mores.  These square ones fell off the skewers more easily and you really needed 2 or more to get the correct ratio.

Grilled Veggies

Pork Chops and Chicken.  Not pictured was Shrimp, Brats and Hamburgers.  I forgot to make the hot dogs but nobody seemed to notice.  Thanks to Lindsey for putting up with me being a psycho blogger freak and photographing the food.  We had a great time enjoying the warm warm weather and eating a TON of food.

I had thought about splitting this post into 3 to make it look better if I posted more, but let's be real.  I work a 30 hour shift tomorrow and have a bunch of errands to run, wedding presents to buy, Anniversary present to wrap and more.  So enjoy the extra long post.
